About the project:

This project involved conducting Level 2 inspections on approximately 30 bridges in the Charlton area for Buloke Shire Council in partnership with LEKT.
The inspections focused on assessing the structural integrity and safety of critical bridge infrastructure after the heavy flood in 2021, ensuring compliance with industry standards and identifying maintenance priorities.
By delivering accurate and detailed inspection reports, we supported the council to secure the much-needed flood damage funds.

Challenges faced and how we overcome them

• Drone Technology: Inspecting hard-to-reach bridge components required innovative solutions. Using drones equipped with high-resolution cameras, we conducted detailed visual inspections of inaccessible areas such as high superstructures and underside elements. This technology ensured comprehensive coverage, enhanced safety, and minimized the use of machineries and hence reduced the Carbon Footprint.
• By combining advanced tools like drones with meticulous planning, we delivered thorough and accurate inspections, even in the most challenging environments.
