About the project:

Every year, we conduct detailed Level 2  inspections of Bridges and Culverts for Hume City Council in partnership with LEKT across the Broadmeadows, Westmeadows, and Sunbury areas. This long-term collaboration reflects our commitment to delivering consistent, high-quality inspection services tailored to the council’s needs.

Our work involves performing Level 2 inspections in compliance with the Road Structures Inspection Manual (RSIM 2022). By adhering to these rigorous standards, we help the council ensure the safety, durability, and functionality of their road infrastructure.

Challenges faced and how we overcome them

• Wide Geographic Coverage: Inspecting road structures across Broadmeadows, Westmeadows, and Sunbury required significant coordination. To address this, we developed an optimized inspection schedule and utilized advanced mapping tools to streamline site visits.
• Managing Public Interactions: Some inspections were conducted in areas with high public activity, requiring careful management to avoid disruptions and ensure safety. We achieved this through effective signage, traffic management plans, and clear communication with the community.

By addressing these challenges with strategic planning, safety-focused measures, and effective public engagement, we delivered successful outcomes for Hume City Council.
