Works Undertaken:
Open Girders/Stringers
- Access gained by removing decking as required
- Split girder was mechanically reinforced using a structural hardwood splice
- (Life expectancy 25-30 years) bolted from up and side.
- Boards on the deck were screwed (as per Council request) for improved durability
- Fixed using galvanised/stainless steel bolts.
Decking reinstated and secured
Deck/Slabs
- All decking boards within the affected area were fully replaced with Treated Structural Pine – life expectancy 15-30 years.
- Decking installed using appropriate structural treated timber
Supporting joists inspected and confirmed suitable
