About the project:

Our company demonstrated its capability to manage large-scale infrastructure projects with the successful completion of Level 1 inspections for the Department of Transport and Planning (DTP). This project involved inspecting approximately 1,000 road structures, including bridges, culverts, gantry signs, Retaining walls, High masts and noise walls, across a vast area stretching from Melbourne CBD to Sorrento.

Delivered in partnership with Service Stream, the project required meticulous planning, effective resource allocation, and seamless coordination to ensure timely and high-quality outcomes. Our team leveraged advanced inspection techniques and thorough methodologies to evaluate the condition and safety of these critical assets, providing comprehensive reports and actionable recommendations to the client.

This project showcases our ability to handle complex, large-scale assignments while maintaining the highest standards of accuracy, efficiency, and safety. Our proven expertise positions us as a trusted partner for delivering infrastructure inspection services on projects of any scale.

Challenges faced and how we overcome them

During the DTP Road Structures Inspection Project, we faced several challenges, which we overcame with effective planning and collaboration:

  • Traffic Management Coordination: We worked closely with traffic management services to ensure safe access and minimize traffic disruption, scheduling inspections during off-peak hours.
  • Work Planning: With the large scale of the project, careful scheduling and prioritization of critical structures ensured efficient execution.
  • Structure Identification: We overcame structure identification issues by using GPS and detailed mapping to ensure accuracy in locating all assets.
  • Wildlife Encounters: To address safety risks from snakes and wild animals, we implemented wildlife awareness training and preventive protocols.
  • Temperature Extremes: We adapted to extreme temperatures by scheduling inspections during cooler times of day and providing the team with the necessary protective gear.

These solutions ensured the project was completed efficiently, safely, and in compliance with all standards.
